Pipe Repair & Replacement in Brighton

Pipes don't last forever. Galvanized steel corrodes from the inside out. Old cast iron develops cracks. Even copper can fail at joints or develop pinhole leaks in certain water conditions. When your pipes start causing problems, we can repair or replace them.

Sometimes a single repair is all you need. Other times, especially in older homes with original plumbing, you're better off replacing whole sections or even repiping entirely. We'll assess your situation and give you realistic options.

Common Pipe Problems

Corrosion — Galvanized pipes are notorious for this. They rust from the inside, restricting water flow and eventually leaking. If you have galvanized supply lines and low water pressure, corrosion is probably the culprit.

Frozen pipes — Michigan winters can freeze pipes in unheated spaces or exterior walls. If you're lucky, the pipe just freezes and thaws without damage. If you're unlucky, the expansion cracks the pipe and you've got a leak when things warm up.

Root intrusion — Tree roots seek out water, and sewer lines are a prime target. Roots work their way in through joints or small cracks and eventually block the line completely.

Bellied pipes — Sections of underground pipe that have sunk create low spots where waste collects. This leads to recurring clogs and backups.

Repair vs Replace

A single leak in otherwise good piping? Repair makes sense. Multiple leaks, severely corroded pipes, or chronic problems? Replacement is usually the better investment. We can help you think through the costs and benefits.

When we do replace pipes, we use quality materials. PEX for supply lines in most cases — it's durable, flexible, and resists freezing better than rigid pipe. For drains, PVC or ABS depending on what's already in place.

Repiping Projects

Full house repipes are bigger jobs, but sometimes that's what an older home needs. If you're constantly dealing with leaks, have lead pipes you want to remove, or are doing a major renovation anyway, repiping can make sense.

We work efficiently to minimize disruption. Most repipes can be done in a few days. We'll walk you through the process beforehand so you know what to expect.
